Project Description
The exhibition “We All Come from Childhood” presents the traditions and everyday lives of children in Georgia and neighboring regions 100–150 years ago – from birth rituals and education to play, martial training, and folklore. It features unique 18th–20th century artifacts and artworks from the collections of the Georgian National Museum.

We All Come From Childhood
As Antoine de Saint-Exupéry once said, “We all come from childhood.” This idea lies at the heart of the exhibition “We All Come from Childhood,” which introduces visitors to the world of children’s lives in Georgia and neighboring regions 100–150 years ago. The exhibition explores birth and ritual traditions, upbringing, play and education, the learning of martial skills, and folklore — everything that shaped the world of childhood.
On display are material, photographic, and artistic artifacts from the 18th to the 20th centuries: cradles, amulets, toys, children’s clothing, and musical instruments. The collection is preserved in the storerooms of the Georgian National Museum and has been assembled through years of research and field expeditions. It is a journey into the childhood of our ancestors — a past that still breathes with warmth and history.
