Why You May See a Download Warning...

When you download Tsvaro Slideshow Studio, your browser may show a warning message like “this file may be unsafe,” “this download is suspicious,” or it may ask whether you trust this website.

This is normal - and honestly, it’s a good safety feature. The applications section on my website is still new, so the site hasn’t built a long download reputation yet. Because of that, browsers can be extra cautious and display these warnings.

In some cases, the warning can also make it slightly harder to save or open the file. If you decide to proceed, you’ll need to confirm the prompt and tell your browser to keep the file and allow the download.

Before opening the installer, you are absolutely free to scan it with any antivirus tools you trust. I can confidently say this: if you download the installer from the official page here, there will be nothing suspicious or unwanted inside the package. I can’t make the same promise for copies you might find on other websites, or if someone uploads it elsewhere, or distributes it through torrents.

One more honest note: the best way to eliminate many of these warnings is a paid code-signing certificate, but it’s expensive. Since I’m offering this application for free and I’m not planning to earn income from it, I can’t promise if or when I’ll be able to purchase code signing. Until then, as the site and downloads build trust over time, these warnings should gradually become less common.
